A really really hard ride

Lewis River / Falls Creek double

Sat, 06/09/2012 - 8:00am - 3:00pm

This event is the best way to hit two of my favorite trail in one day. Goal is to ride Lewis River as a out and back and finish with a shuttle on Falls Creek. Two separate rides combined into one day is not for the unprepared. So pull out your maps and check it out and see if you are up for the adventure.

More details as we get closer to the event.

Group ride will be led by Dennis V and Ted D

Meet at Gateway park and ride south parking lot at 7 am.  Meet at the Rock Creek Campground at 8 am.  All day ride, minimal breaks.  Bring a feed bag for your handle bars as we will stop very rarely, treating this like an endurance ride.  Bring lots of water.  Will ride to top of Larch Mountain, top of Silver Star Mountain and over Bell Mountain.  Bring a flashlight in case it gets dark.

I have no idea if this ride will end in the afternoon or by nightfall so please come prepared with some type of light in case it does get dark.

The Ride

Bennett Pass to the end of Surveyors Ridge via some the best trails on Mt Hood.  Along the way ride leaders will help you navigate the trails.  Aid stations will be there to support you.  A best of all there will be a celebration party at the Saw Tooth Roadhouse.

Plan to ride 50 miles, use a map, and be in the saddle for 6 hrs.  This is not a race, but it requires that you come prepared.
