If you've ridden at Gales Creek trail in the past three years. You're probably aware that the main Gales Creek trail has been closed due to a huge trail washout 3-4 years ago. What you may not know is that last winter while working to restore the trail Randy Hodges lost his life in a terrible accident. Randy was a local trail builder who worked alone through the Winter to reestablish one of our favorite trails. For the past several months I have been in contact with the Tillamook forestry department to see what we can do to help reopen the trail in Randy's name. This weekend we'll get or opportunity to give back.

Jaime Menagh will be leading a ride at Roger's Camp (AKA Brown's Camp or Historic Hiking Trail) on Sat, 3/24/12

Meet:  10am at Fred Meyer just off Hwy 26 on Imbrie Road.  We will re-group and carpool from there

The trail is an 8-mile Intermediate loop ride with plenty of climbing and roots.  Fit beginners can easily walk the more technical sections.  The ride will take between 1.5-2.5 hours depending on the group.

The trail tends to be soggy in spots so come prepared with fenders, towels, and a change of clothing, as well as a helmet, water, spare tube, food, etc.

We can get lunch at the McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse after the ride.
