2011 Trail Skills College

"To help our volunteers succeed in their trail work, PCTA collaborated with many partners to develop a Trail Skills College curriculum. It is designed for workshops to train volunteers both new and old. The curriculum is available for free for all who wish to use it, whether you are a partner working along the PCT, or working on trails around the world."

"This training is offered free of charge in an effort to inspire citizen stewardship of our trails. In exchange, we suggest a donation of at least 25 hours of your time in the coming year to practice your skills by volunteering on trail projects."

Continuing saga of the Trail Ninja

Nobody ever sees a trailbuilder, at least not if they’re doing it right. Consider your favorite spot, be it DH, Freeride, XC, dirt jump, or skills-park. From the trailhead parking-lot to the trash-can you toss your post-ride beverage-container into, a dedicated trailbuilder—or more likely, numerous trailbuilders—had a hand in almost every aspect of your ride. Those perfect berms that flow from section to section? That surprising new rock-drop with the buttery landing? That flawless set of doubles with the rocket-launcher-lip? All thanks to trailbuilders.

And let’s not forget every log you didn’t find across the trail, those ruts that didn’t suck down your front wheel, that huge washout you didn’t have to portage around, the low-hanging limb that didn’t knock you ass-over-tea kettle, the visits to the emergency room you didn’t have to make…

Stub Mountain Bike Area - south section to open by summer '11!

The N. Caddy Whomper area opened to public in August 2010, and we're now nearing another milestone with the south section which has been under construction for couple of build seasons...

NWTA is on target for open south section of trail in Stub mountain bike area by summer 2011.   We need your help on 3/20/2011 to complete a link section to tie Williams Creek bridge landing with the existing single track which has been built over couple of seasons (ready to ride but needs signage before open to public).

Super sized trail building, camping, and riding weekend!   If you've ever helped at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park to build the mountain biking singletrack, then this weekend is not to be missed.   We hope to be ready to open the upper trail loop to the public during this event.

Small group of people are camping Saturday night (fee is waived for volunteers working trail!) - most camp sites already reserved - but there's hike-in first come/first serve camping spots available (some plan to camp at hike-in area).
