Snow biking?

Anybody have any experience riding trails in the snow?  I'm inclined to try out some groomed snowmobile trails but am looking for input.

Thanks

Crosstown & Pioneer Bridle ride this Saturday!

Join us for a ride on Mount Hood in Government Camp this Saturday! This ride is on the south side of Mount Hood and isn't affected by the Dollar Lake Fire on the north side of Mount Hood. The area provides lots of route options to lengthen or shorten the ride, so we'll be able to accommodate all abilities. We'll meet at the southern Gateway Transit Center outside parking lot and arrange carpools. We'll drop shuttle vehicles off Highway 26 for the Pioneer Bridle shuttle, then continue to the Summit Sno-Park in Government Camp. The drive should take about an hour and fifteen minutes. The shuttled ride will take about two hours, and we're planning on doing two runs. Those riding out and back or Crosstown/ Camp Creek loop, etc.

fifteen mile creek report

I rode fifteen mile creek this weekend and the conditions are perfect.  It is much less dusty than 8mile and kneibal and has no snow or downed trees.

Continuing up the trail past the campground (up 457 & connecting with tr450) we were able to ride to ~5500 ft with minimal snow and blowdown.  I would expect a couple of weeks and the connection to high prarie will be free of snow and it seems the trails are getting great maintenance....

ride it!

Next Ride in the Bringin' it Back rides = Knebal Springs

Second ride in the Bringin' it Back - Slow(er) and Social group rides.

Weather is look Freakin'-Fantastic for this upcoming Saturday.

In such, I think a trip up to Mt. Hood to do Knebal Springs (and maybe 8 mile) would make for a great weekend group ride.  Much of this is tentative, based on rider interest at this point... but I'm thinking getting to the Trail Head at 10:00-ish'.  Plan will to be ride Knebal, and then assess whether an 8 mile addition is in the cards or not.

This ride is intermediate in nature, by way of slower pace, plenty of rest stops, and no one get's left.  You should have solid handling skills on a bike, as well as some degree of lung capacity - there is a bit of climbing to be done.

Rd 44 trail network conditions? Gumjawac, 451, etc?

We're thinking about heading to the Rd 44 trails this Sunday.  Anybody know if the area as far up as the Gumjawac trail is snow free and if so, any info about condition?  I read the info about Surveyor's and things in that area, but I'm wondering about trails at higher elevations.  Thanks!
