Scappoose

Rocky Point clean up day: HUGE success! (click for full story)

A Big Thank You to over 30 people who volunteered their time and some cash to pick up litter and debris on Rocky Point Road near Scappoose.  We filled the trailer with 6 cubic yards of tires, mattresses wire and other junk and debris.  (No lb total yet as it is still in the trailer).   I know it's easy and fun to give navigation directions such as 'turn right at the mattress, then left at the big red tire', but removal is to everyone's benefit.

Dogs at Scappoose

I was out riding at Scappoose today and was attacked by a pack of dogs. I was riding up to the intersection on Not-A-Mile and Sidewinder when a pack of 11 dogs descended upon me. They were barking and growling, lunging at me, in pack attack mode. I quickly got off my bike and tried to keep it between me and them. They began to circle around me lunging at me from all sides. I was yelling and swinging my bike at them trying to keep them back. I thought I was a gonna. Then this woman, hiking, comes around the corner on the trail. She stands there looking, bewildered. I start yelling at her to call the dogs. She does, but in a half hearted way. Like someone might call a dog for dinner. They were getting real close and I started screaming. Finally the woman called them more earnestly as she walked off through the woods. They didn't listen right away and only after she got pretty far into the woods.  A few dogs were left that I persuaded to leave with a big stick. I tried to ride away but after about 10 munites had to stop and sit on the trail, nauseous after the adrenaline wore off.

Ride This Friday - Sept 25th

So my buddies got on my case to fix up my bike.  It's been 3 years since my accident and the cost of parts is not cheap.  Anyways, my bike is fixed and I'm riding.  Now my buddies are flaking.  So, I'm left trooping it alone.  Does anyone want to ride Friday morning at 10:00am?  I'm thinking of hitting up either Scappoose of Molalla.  Any takers?
