Family Fun Ride, Campout, and Trail care party in Cascade Locks: June 9-10th

Our last Family Evening Ride was so popular by families and kids that we decided to have another one. This time we are combining an evening ride with an overnight campout followed by a Trail Care party to complete a inner loop section and to develop a Cyclecross course. This section may be used by the Short Track Race, so come add your favorite twist and get the upper hand.

Saturday, June 9th, 6pm: Family Evening Ride and Campout

Where: easyCLIMB trail in Cascade Locks.

- Bring Chairs and food to cook over the fire or BBQ.

Grom Bomb Kids DH race at the Hood River Skate Park on the gravity fed BMX track! 13 and under!   FREE to race but donations are accepted to benefit NWTA and HRATS!  Raffle and root beer floats after the race!

Our friend Ranger Jim Thornton is putting on a presentation in Hood River tomorrow if you're in the area.  Looks like it will be a good discussion about the evolving art of trail design and maintenance.  

CASCADE LOCKS TRAIL BUILDING

I met with Andy and Andy at Cascade Locks yesterday and we isolated a spot of land to build the Women's Group project trail; operation Goldilocks. They are very excited about this effort and so am I!
I will be discussing this project again at the Women's Group meeting at Hopworks on May 29th, but want to get some dates out to you all in the interim.

Syncline Work Party

Hello NWTA, the Washington Trails Association is heading-up some Syncline work parties this year.  The next event is this Saturday, May 5th.  They are looking to finish the re-route just below the brown house at the top of the double-track (dubbed Watrus).  If you are unfamailiar, this is a terrible muddy mess in the spring.  So register below and come help work on a trail that needs some love!
