Quartz Creek Trail

Quartz Creek Trail Work Party, Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Aaron and Dave are returning to Quartz Creek to clear out more trees and other general trail maintenance work.  We'll be spending the day hiking in and back out.  This trail work is preparatory work to the Aaron's Challenge ride to be held sometime in the future at an unyet known date.

Please sign up for the trip.  We will meet at 6203 SE 92nd Ave at 6:15, leaving there at 6:30A.  We will then meet up at the north end of the Bridge of the Gods (Washington side) at 7:15A.  Travel time to the work site is approximately two hours from Portland.

Aaron's Dream

Aaron has a dream, and it's a mighty challenging one.  He dreams of riding his mountain bike from the Ape Canyon Trail up to Windy Ridge, connect with the Boundary Trail head east and then ride down the Quartz Creek Trail and then finally connecting to the Lewis River Trail to finally arrive at the Lewis River campground, a soft air mattress and a much awaited beer.  That is a very big challenge, which definitely has some potential to it!  Who knows, maybe it could become an official ride called the Aaron's Challenge!

Quartz Creek Trail Work Party, Gifford Pinchot NF

One of the trails NWTA needs to work on this summer on the Gifford Pinchot NF is the Quartz Creek Trail.  On this work party we will concentrate on the lower two miles of this trail which is known for it's old growth forest.  Please contact coordinator before Wednesday August 5th for meeting time/location.  Plan on spending all day working on this scenic trail.
