Sandy Ridge Trail System

*New* Sandy Ridge trail: "Quid Pro Flow" opens this wkend (8/14/2011)

Coinciding with the Santa Cruz demo day on Sunday at Sandy Ridge Trail System (SRTS) is the opening of another section of trail off the 338 trail.

The new trail, "Quid Pro Flow", will continue off the end of the 338 jump line, duck into the woods for a bit of singletrack, then open up into its own jump line that's longer than the 338 section!  The technical trail flows along the ridgeline west (and parallels an old road bed), then undulates as it traverses back to meet up w/ the original 338 loop.

Thanks to the BLM, IMBA, Jason Wells (IMBA builder), and the crews out there this summer (Ethan, Bama, and the youth crew) for making this happen.

2010-2011 Sandy Ridge work party dates

The BLM and NWTA have announced the volunteer work party dates for the 2010-2011 build season.

The main build dates are on the following Saturdays:

March 20/21 (2010) Trail Work Party Opportunities: Wilson River, Post Canyon & Sandy Ridge

It's that time of year-- only this year we've been riding the trails
pretty much all winter without snow. Northwest Trail Alliance, Columbia Area Mountain Bike Advocates (CAMBA) and Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) all are
hosting work parties this weekend.

How about giving back to the trails this weekend?

Saturday (3/20) work parties:

-Northwest Trail Alliance: Sandy Ridge- cutting in some new
trail, maintenance on Hide & Seek

Sandy Ridge Trail Work Party (NWTA)

Sandy Ridge

We've added another Trail Work Party for the Sandy Ridge Trail System!

In addition to our Trail Work Party/Discovery Ride as part of the Portland Trail Fest on April 24th, we've added a Trail Work Party on Saturday, March 20th.  Please join us, along with our trail partners, the Salem District Bureau of Land Management and the International Mountain Biking Association, for 3 hours to help cut new trail and perform maintenance work on one of the newest trail systems in our area-- then ride the completed section of trail afterwards.

We welcome you to attend even if you haven't ever worked at a Trail Work
Party-- make this your first one if you've never been to one!
